Olana State Historic Site

The Hudson River Valley was home to the famous Victorian Era artist, Frederic Edwin Church, and he bought this historic property and built a magnificent home for his wife Isabel and their family. The expansive home is a Persian-inspired architecture, and visitors to the property can tour the house with the majority of Church’s original furniture, art, tapestries and other pieces of décor. The property also boasts a perfect view of the Catskills and the Hudson River.

Minnewaska State Park

This Ulster County, New York preserve rises more than 2,000 feet above sea level and gives visitors the chance to experience world-class rockclimbing and over 25 miles of carriageways and footpaths for biking, jogging or taking a walk. The park also features numerous waterfalls which are open for swimming, scuba diving or simply enjoying the marvelous scenery.
